The Latin Culture.

In Canada and the States young boys in their early teens are practicing their moves for sports but here in the Dominican Republic they are practicing dancing, salsa, bachata and merengue.

The fact that they love to dance combined with the cultural difference in that they, both Spanish men and Spanish women, don't mind and actually prefer an older partner makes for a romantic vacation paradise.

Alternate Accommodations to All-Inclusive Resorts.

Most people come unprepared to discover the real Dominican Republic because most have booked an all-inclusive resort vacation and their mindset is that everything is already paid for.

SAFETY
The hotels tell the tourists that it is not safe to go outside the hotel complex in the nighttime and only with the tours provided in the daytime.

This is not so!!!

As for safety, it has been my experience, it is entirely safe (execpt for the driving).

There have been occasions where a single man or woman have had a pass made at them (love that "Latin" culture) by a friendly Dominican, or a taxi driver has taken a customer for a few extra pesos.

These incidents are very few in numbers, and violent crime is much less than back in downtown Toronto.
